Many Broc Shot users do not require a probiotic. Probiotics put bacteria into your gut to help support the gut microbiome. Sulforaphane works differently, acting as a prebiotic, providing a strong food source, nurturing your personal gut microbiome while also helping to heal the gut lining. Additionally, sulforaphane offers further benefits in helping reduce inflammation and detoxifying the body.

Since sulforaphane covers so many benefits, many users are able to reduce how many supplements they are taking, often saving hundreds of dollars.

We recommend using sulforaphane as your baseline for approximately two weeks. If you still feel the need for a probiotic, you can consider adding it back in while consulting a healthcare practitioner who can tell you if a probiotic or other supplement will be beneficial for you.  

While many colostrum benefits seem similar to sulforaphane, there are some key differences and the research on bovine colostrum for humans is still quite new. Colostrum is well documented for its immune benefits from mother to newborn of the same species. Studies conducted using bovine (cow) colostrum for humans are limited and not as conclusive. One critique of current bovine colostrum studies is that they utilized 20-60g of colostrum which is 10-30x the volume in a consumer dose (typically 1-2g). To get the benefits of this volume over a month could cost a user $300 per month.

In addition, Bovine colostrum contains antibodies that are specific to pathogens that the female cow is exposed to, and the main antibody in bovine colostrum is IgG [immunoglobulin G], while the main antibody in human colostrum is IGA [immunoglobulin A]. There is little disclosure of the volume of each antibody in the consumer colostrum formulas leading to questions on how effective the formula would be in each human.

There is no vegan colostrum option and there is limited transparency available on quality and sourcing of the colostrum and the effect of manufacturing on colostrum. This is important as colostrum only lasts for a few days following milking. Pasteurization and fat removal can also degrade efficacy.

Sulforaphane has over 1000 peer-reviewed studies and articles and has been researched since its discovery in the 1990’s. In addition, sulforaphane has some distinct advantages over colostrum in relation to anti-inflammatory, detoxification, gut health and cancer prevention and treatment mechanisms.
