While many colostrum benefits seem similar to sulforaphane, there are some key differences and the research on bovine colostrum for humans is still quite new. Colostrum is well documented for its immune benefits from mother to newborn of the same species. Studies conducted using bovine (cow) colostrum for humans are limited and not as conclusive. One critique of current bovine colostrum studies is that they utilized 20-60g of colostrum which is 10-30x the volume in a consumer dose (typically 1-2g). In addition, Bovine colostrum contains antibodies that are specific to pathogens that the female cow is exposed to, and the main antibody in bovine colostrum is IgG [immunoglobulin G], while the main antibody in human colostrum is IGA [immunoglobulin A].
