Travel is good for the soul— but, admittedly, it can be tough on the body. Between long travel days, crossing time zones, exposure to new bacteria and microbes, changes in altitude and climate, and the slowdown in lymphatic flow that comes with air travel, it might feel like your body is in a constant state of adjustment when you’re on the road. We could all use some extra help when it comes to travel wellness, which is one reason we love Kira West, a content creator with a focus on healthy travel and fitness.
West keeps herself energized, glowing, and illness-free by maintaining a foundation of self-care practices that support mental and physical health, wherever her itinerary takes her. In early 2024, she added Broc Shot to her morning routine and hasn’t looked back— she says that it’s helped support her digestion and energy on the road and streamlined her wellness practices.

Broc Shot vs. Greens Powders for Travel
According to West, sticking to a wellness routine away from home starts with making it easy. She’s been consistent with Broc Shot over greens powders, she says, because of its simplicity. “I like that Broc Shot is targeted. It’s super clear on what it is. There are a lot of ingredients in greens powders— including a lot of ingredients I may not need, since I‘m sensitive to different supplements.” It’s also been easier for her to mix a daily Broc Shot when she travels abroad. “Finding a little bit of water for Broc Shot is easier than having to find 8 to 12 ounces for a greens powder.” And she believes that it's helped keep her illness-free while on the go. "I do think taking Broc Shot in addition to prioritizing rest is the key reason why I haven’t gotten sick or had super intense allergy symptoms since March which is about 30 days after I started." To make mornings even easier, she leaves her Broc Shot packet out next to her shaker and water so it’s ready to go when she wakes.
How to Stay Well While Traveling
We asked West to share how she uses Broc Shot, along with her best tips for prioritizing wellness while traveling. Here’s her advice:
- Stick to a morning routine. West swears by a consistent— but spare— morning routine to kick off healthy habits for the rest of the day. “I take Broc Shot first thing and then I'll usually go do my workout. Then after that I'll eat my first meal and that's when I take all my other supplements. I start the morning feeling great because I've done something to promote my health and wellness. It really does set up my day for success.” And while each day might offer a different experience, her morning routine lays a consistent foundation for feeling good.
- Prioritize your sleep routine. For West, that begins with putting away devices. “I try to go to sleep on the earlier side, especially when I'm solo traveling. I'm not doing a ton at night and I tend to be more of an early riser. Limiting how much I touch my phone after a certain hour has been big. I don't sleep with my phone in the room, because it’s easy to get sucked into scrolling, reading emails, and answering texts.” West also recommends winding down with a stretch or a book before bed.
- Move your body daily. Sure, she gets in her steps while exploring a new locale, but West also likes to fit in a morning workout (she’s an avid runner). “Finding movement brings me joy and just helps me center before the day. It could be a workout, or even just doing something quick in my hotel room using my cordless jump rope. I do this every single morning, no matter where I am.” She finds her daily workout to be especially valuable on travel days, when getting from one destination to another can be long and unpredictable.
- Say yes to new experiences— including solo travel. “I love travel; I love exploration; I love being able to see things with my own eyes, so I'm very driven to go.” But West acknowledges that travel confidence often needs to be built, especially when it comes to solo travel. “Keep an open mind. Saying yes to that first experience really helps catapult you into the mindset of, ‘Okay, I can do this.’ And then you slowly build the confidence; it's a muscle like anything else that you can strengthen. I think it is probably easier than it's ever been to travel solo, and it offers you freedom and flexibility.”
We love West’s perspective that consistency and well-chosen habits help reinforce feeling good at home or away. By opening our minds to new experiences while taking care of our bodies, we discover that travel itself is a form of wellness.
