Many Broc Shot users do not require a probiotic. Probiotics put bacteria into your gut to help support the gut microbiome. Sulforaphane works differently, acting as a prebiotic, providing a strong food source, nurturing your personal gut microbiome while also helping to heal the gut lining. Additionally, sulforaphane helps reduce inflammation and detoxifies the body.

Since sulforaphane covers so many benefits, many users are able to reduce how many supplements they are taking, often saving hundreds of dollars.

We recommend using sulforaphane as your baseline for approximately two weeks. If you still feel the need for a probiotic, you can add it back in. We don’t recommend combining a prebiotic with sulforaphane. Also, ensure your prebiotic source is not inulin (typically from chicory), as it can be inflammatory for many people.

While many colostrum benefits seem similar to sulforaphane, there are some key differences and the research on bovine colostrum for humans is still quite new. Colostrum is well documented for its immune benefits from mother to newborn of the same species. Studies conducted using bovine (cow) colostrum for humans are limited and not as conclusive. One critique of current bovine colostrum studies is that they utilized 20-60g of colostrum which is 10-30x the volume in a consumer dose (typically 1-2g). To get the benefits of this volume over a month could cost a user $300 per month.

In addition, Bovine colostrum contains antibodies that are specific to pathogens that the female cow is exposed to, and the main antibody in bovine colostrum is IgG [immunoglobulin G], while the main antibody in human colostrum is IGA [immunoglobulin A]. There is little disclosure of the volume of each antibody in the consumer colostrum formulas leading to questions on how effective the formula would be in each human.

There is no vegan colostrum option and there is limited transparency available on quality and sourcing of the colostrum and the effect of manufacturing on colostrum. This is important as colostrum only lasts for a few days following milking. Pasteurization and fat removal can also degrade efficacy.

Sulforaphane has over 1000 peer-reviewed studies and articles and has been researched since its discovery in the 1990’s. In addition, sulforaphane has some distinct advantages over colostrum in relation to anti-inflammatory, detoxification, gut health and cancer prevention and treatment mechanisms.

Greens powders are a mix of lots of vegetable and fruit powders and complexes which means they can have lower efficacy due to volume of ingredients and it’s hard to know which ingredients are best for your nutritional needs. Plus many have very little scientific research behind them especially in combination. Many greens powders cause bloating due to an added ingredient inulin. Many health experts do not recommend inulin for more than 24 weeks. Inulin dosage matters too and how much is “too much” can vary from person to person.

Cold sores affect approximately 50% of the US population and nearly 70% of the global population. Antiviral medications are effective but not intended for long-term or continuous use. Most drug store remedies help minimize sores once they are present, but they can still require numerous days to take effect and do not help prevent outbreaks. Many natural options simply aren’t very effective.

Sulforaphane has been demonstrated to be safe for long-term, daily use. Many users have found it helps to prevent outbreaks from occurring, and those that do occur can be less severe.

This is a common question but the answer is more nuanced. Our mission with BROC SHOT is to offer a consistent dose of Sulforaphane (SFN) of no less than 15mg. Our product is popular because getting SFN at a consistent dose from sprouts, mature broccoli and other supplements is pretty tough. SFN at the right dose is something you can see and feel in your body. If you are taking a SFN product or sprouts and not seeing and feeling benefits it’s likely that the SFN level is quite low or non-existent. There is such a wide variation in the seeds used for sprouting so comparing store bought/home grown sprouts to our product isn’t feasible. The seeds we use are typically higher yield of sulforaphane than for any seeds a person could buy and we have a selective process that includes tests done at the seed level to help yield a consistent amount of sulforaphane. There is a 20-fold variation in the bioactives in the seed and someone buying seeds for personal use can’t easily know the quality of the seed they are purchasing – nor will the supplier without testing them.

Typically we are able obtain 15 mg SFN from approximately 12-15 grams of our fresh sprouts, being that they are the highest quality/yield seed. But if a consumer had the lowest grade seed, you would need to eat about 200-400 grams of sprouts. Sprouts are very light, so that is a large volume of sprouts.

Improved bowel regularity is usually the first sign that Broc Shot is beginning to work. You’ll probably notice your regularity improve after only a few days, but as your gut adjusts, there’s a small chance that you may experience some mild gassiness and increased urges to go. These effects are similar to what you'd experience from a pre or probiotic and typically subside within 2-3 days.
