Sulforaphane is a sulfur-rich phytochemical naturally found in cruciferous vegetables like broccoli. It forms as part of the plant's defense mechanism through an enzymatic reaction between two critical components: Glucoraphanin and the active enzyme Myrosinase. Without both, the production of Sulforaphane is minimal or non-existent.

Do I still need a probiotic?
Many Broc Shot users do not require a probiotic. Probiotics put bacteria into your gut to help support the gut microbiome. Sulforaphane works differently, acting as a prebiotic, providing a strong food source, nurturing your personal gut microbiome while also helping to heal the gut lining. Additionally, Natural Sulforaphane helps reduce inflammation and detoxifies the body.
Since sulforaphane covers so many benefits, many users are able to reduce how many supplements they are taking, often saving hundreds of dollars.
We recommend using sulforaphane as your baseline for approximately two weeks. If you still feel the need for a probiotic, you can add it back in. We don’t recommend combining a prebiotic with sulforaphane. Also, ensure your prebiotic source is not inulin (typically from chicory), as it can be inflammatory for many people.
Broc Shot vs Colostrum
There is no vegan colostrum option and there is limited transparency available on quality and sourcing of the colostrum and the effect of manufacturing on colostrum. This is important as colostrum only lasts for a few days following milking. Pasteurization and fat removal can also degrade efficacy.

Stabilized Sulforaphane is not natural. Stabilizing Sulforaphane involves the use of alcohols, solvents, and other chemicals to stabilize and/or encapsulate it.
Many of our users are facing inflammation or gut health issues and are trying to better detoxify their system. Using a stabilized Sulforaphane with chemical additives is counter-intuitive and could actually contribute to some of the issues that they are trying to address.
While we respect organic certification, our standards are higher.
"Certified organic" refers to a specific certification and set of standards, but it doesn't mean pesticide-free. In the United States, pesticides that meet the criteria of the USDA National Organic Program may be used in organic crop production.
Instead, we are focused on non-GMO, pesticide-free, and herbicide-free cultivation. In addition to never using pesticides, Broc Shot is glyphosate-free.
